Like it was just yesterday!

Well, the long-awaited CBT (Chesapeake Bank & Trust) surprise reunion was two nights ago, as planned.  Attending were Debbra, Zadie, Barbara, Sam, Frank, Dick and I.  Was there ever a lot of food and talk!!!  Everyone got caught up on the last 20 years of banking, health and office gossip, and it was just as if we'd last chatted yesterday!!  Of course, Debbra said I was old and Zadie said I'd put on weight, so they may not get invited back to the NEXT one...  (just kidding, I cannot hide from the truth!!)

That night, tho, we'd heard the Perseid meteor shower was continuing (which explained the "shooting star" we had seen the previous night), so Dick & I stayed up till 1 pm, watching.  It was cool in more ways than one!  The sky was clear, with lots of stars out, and the light pollution was minimal, so we had a really good view and saw several meteors.  However, in spite of the cool breeze, the mosquitoes were ferocious, and eventually, we got tired of feeding them, so we didn't watch as long as we would have liked.  Besides, we'd committed to going back to his mom's apartment again at 10 am, and we knew we had to find a Wachovia Bank before then and get some of my pension papers signed & notarized.  Would you believe, in this day & age, I still had to get his consent for payment of choice?  Funny thing is that that choice was his suggestion!  Silly regs., but regulations nonetheless.

Well, we found a branch, got notarized & got to Bo's place only 1 minute late.  Not too bad, I thought.  Bo was sitting in the foyer waiting, and we went on inside.  Once there, we chatted a bit, and then we got messing around with her answering machine.  Seems she had 5 old messages, one of which said only, "POWER FAILURE" and 4 others.  Plus, the date & time were wrong.  Well, we got that all fixed up and corrected, and she mentioned that her DVD player didn't play anymore, could we look at that.

Well, durned if we could make it work, either, since we couldn't even get it to power ON!  So, off we go to a nearby Radio Shack and buy her a brand new one.  Get it hooked up and test it out with a Bill Cosby monologue.  Works fine, but geez, can that guy talk.  Sometimes he's funny, but, geez, an hour later, and he's not even taken a sip of water, and he's STILL TALKING!  I was freezing & bones were getting stiff, so I had to get up & walk Sunny outside.....lucky thing I did, too, 'cuz she really had to go, once we got to some grass!!

Walked around the block and went into a house under construction.  HUGE foyer and great room/kitchen, but what the heck was with all the other little, choppy rooms, I wonder.  Too small for an office, too big for a closet or pantry, and not plumbed for a bath.  Glad it's not gonna be mine!

Anyway, back to Bo's and Bill is STILL TALKING.  Finally, he's through, and we leave, suggesting that maybe Bo & Aunt Grace might want to come out to the trailer for burgers & dogs lunch tomorrow.  We go on over to visit with Mrs. Shedd, and it's my first meeting with her.  Nice lady with lots of interesting stories to tell.  Bless her heart, she was concerned for Sunny, too, and had even baked us some chocolate chip cookies!

We invited her back to the camper, to visit with Debbra and Barbara (and maybe Frank & Henry), who were scheduled to return for dinner.  To our delight, she agreed.

So, we get back and weren't there long, when up drives Debbra and her pups, with the news that Frank's coming by later, too!  Within 30 minutes, Barbara & Henry arrive, and we get going on dinner.  Just as we begin loading up our plates, Frank pulls up, and now the gang's all here!

What a LOVELY time we all had, eating, talking and sharing more pictures and stories.  I missed Theresa and Chrissy, but I know we'll eventually get caught up with them too, and that gives us something to look forward to.

In retrospect, lemme say this.....if you're thinking of getting one of those Thermos grills-to-go, save your money and DON'T.  Whoever designed it never had to CLEAN it.  And if they DID, they never cleaned it in a camper sink!  In fact, if you offer me just about any amount of money, and you'll come and get it, it's YOURS!  Sucker is a royal PITA to clean!!!!  Dunno what we're gonna use today, for lunch, but I do know this:  it ain't gonna be THAT!

Anyway, I guess I better get stirring, and make some lemonade.  Thanks for coming and for all the hugs, y'all.  Hope you each continue to be blessed by the love you have and shared with us.  Take care, and be safe, happy and healthy.  Love to all!
