On the road again!!

WHEW! Was glad to see that nothing's changed!!! We hit C'ville and it was 93* till the sun went down. Then it was only about 70-something, but very nice. The next day saw us at the eye doctor's and grocery store, then on to visit Chuck up on the mountain. If you get a chance, visit him at http://chesleycreekfarms.com, or better yet, make a reservation, and visit him in person. He's gotta have his hip replaced in a couple of weeks, but then he'll be better than new! Reminds of us of the bionic man and the energizer bunny all rolled into one.
Went for a swim, visited, then headed back to the camper.....about halfway, Dick's phone beeped a new voice mail. Tab was kind enough to let us know a severe storm was headed our way and we should prepare. HAHAH - was she ever RIGHT! Spectacular display of wind, rain, hail, lightning for hours. Evette, Jeff & Calvin came out for dinner during a lull, spent a couple of hours, then went back home and had to dodge some downed trees. Then, round 2 hit. More wind, rain, hail & lightning. Was really pretty cool, and only a little scary. Next day, we headed out to Louisa looking for a Dodge dealer (normal servicing) and found lots of storm damage. No dealer in sight, we went back to C'ville and spent the day there, but got oil changed & transmission serviced, and not much else done. Tab, Kim & the grandchildren came out that evening and we all had a blast. Little ones sure do keep ya hoppin!!
Spent Sat & Sunday being grandparents and thoroughly enjoyed it. Too bad Alex didn't catch a fish, but maybe next time. Bert caught Annabelle's purple baby with his hook, and she was NOT happy about it, but settled down, once I told her that "Daddy would fix purple baby." She repeated it, "Daddy fix purple baby." like a mantra, everything was fine.
Today was the usual, though....Woke early in preparation for a long day on the road. By 7:30, we were almost ready to go, and thunder was rumbling in the distance. Not to be outdone by the sun, the rains came in just as we were ready to hitch up. And, boy, did they come. I guess it's safe to lift the water restrictions now.
We had great travelling weather all the way down I85 - great, that is, if you like HOT. 103* for most of the trip. Boy, did we check the tires closely at every stop, but they seemed to do just fine. And well they should, at $1200!!!!
Well, we're really roughing it here, it's WIFI, all right, but signal is low, we're in the truck, on battery, in front of the closed office. Need to sign off and head back to camper, as we have another long day ahead of us tomorrow. We intend to go thru Hot-Lanta, just like Sherman, and end up in Jasper, AL for the evening.
Wish us luck! Love to all ~~
