My, how time flies!!

My goodness!  How is it that we have a list of things we haven't yet accomplished, but we find ourselves two days later!!??  The dog has YET to get her bath, but we have completed our first day of "work."

Monday passed by with a trip to the bank for some paperwork, then an evening show review/preview.  That's when a group of performers offer 3-4 bits of their shows to the locals.  After the event, they served us a dinner of sandwiches, fruit, pasta, and LOTS of yummy desserts and we had a meet & greet with the stars.  Oh, yeah, it was all free.

Yesterday was probably a lot more fun for me than it was for Dick.  You see, it was "Girls' day out," and boy, did we have fun.  Started off with a nice lunch in a really foo-foo restaurant.  It was an 1800's farm house that had been retrofitted and converted to a cozy little tea room, all fancied up with grape vines, paint, dried flowers & antiques.  Not something most men would find comfortable, and most of the patrons were, in fact, small groups of women.  We were 7, and our lunches of salad, soup, sandwiches & quiches were nicely topped off by generous slices of home-made pie (whole pies, 10 inches, for sale for $12.50 - heck YEAH I asked!!).  After stuffing ourselves, we headed on down the strip, to go see Elvis.  Oh my, someone really should tell the lady in the first row who's seen him now 69 times, it's really an impersonator, the REAL Elvis died a few years back!

It was really kinda sad to watch, but she was obviously in 7th heaven.  We all even went up onstage and had our picture taken with the performers.  Of course, we got it signed (To the ladies of Lakeside) and purchased the picture for the campground office.  I'm sure it'll make a nice addition to the 'campy' decor.  Oh yeah, did I mention, the show was free?

Today we both worked the afternoon.  Dick rode around on the golf-cart (just as they promised he could/would), while I answered the phone and learned how to take and confirm reservations...  I came up with a few time-saving (I didn't say they would be cheap!!) ideas, and they seemed to be well-received.  I dunno what all else Dick did ....he's pretty secretive about it.  I guess he'd better open up about it, tho, or there won't be a MENS' night out, since we'd have to do their jobs while they played.  I suggested mens' night out could be a painting party — that too seemed well received.  I better watch out, or I might get fired....

Tomorrow we both have to work again — I have to work ALL DAY, no less, then it's back to the grocery store after dinner, when it's cooled down & we can take Sunny.  We might even venture to Springfield or Ozark to see what's there.

Well, Jose's just announced that the timer's gone off — that means the brownies are done, so I gotta go get some.  Thanks for listening and reading.  Love your comments!!  Y'all take care!
