WHOOHOOO!!!

Branson, MO

Well, I dunno HOW it happened, and it was certainly our good fortune, but somehow, next week's work schedule shows us no longer working on Saturday.  YIPPEE!!  THAT means we CAN go dancing this weekend, after all!!  Last night we made our hotel reservations and this morning we made arrangements for Sunny to spend a couple of days at th Puppy Palace.  Then I had a whole bunch of ironing to do.  Such is life!!!

I guess tomorrow I'll have to dig out mathing crinolines and make sure Dick has all the right ties and belts.  He's not thrilled with the idea of wearing PANTS again, but he'll get over it, I'm sure.

Tonight, after work, Dick & I took Denise to go see Shoji.  Yes, the Shoji Tabuchi you've all heard about.  He was a classically trained violinist in Japan, when he went to a Roy Acuff concert out of curiosity.  Now, he's a world-famous fiddle-player.  He came to America with only $500 in his pocket, and now he draws in about 18 mil.  A year.  Last year he was honored by his native Japan (he said what medal they bestowed, but darned if I can remember), plus he played for both President Bush and the Prime Minister of Japan.

He's VERY talented, and he put on a great show.  It wasn't just fiddle-playing, though there was a lot of it, and it was very good.  He also sang, had dancers, a laser-light show and fireworks.  And the range of styles played really was incredible.  He played big-band, swing-band, countryband, Japanese drums, Broadway, Hawaiin, bluegrass, and paid homage to America with a variety of state-oriented songs.  The finale included showers of sparks, drummers and lots of red, white & blue sparkles, with "Coming to America" as the song.  It was well worth the trip, and we are looking forward to seeing his Christmas show.

The Branson Car Collector Auction kicked off today, and we had lots of empty trailers show up....starting at 7:30 am.  A.M.  Our park has several empty, but reserved, sites, and we've turned away MANY MANY people who just took a notion to come down for the weekend.  We even had one lady call up, and tell me, "I need spots for 5 RV's, starting tonight, for about 4-5 days."  It was all I could do to keep from asking her why on EARTH did she not make a reservation before today?????!!!!  I still cannot believe she was serious.  I thought it might have been one of my esteemed co-workers playing jokes on us (as if the leaves all lined up in a row on our site, immediately after Dick cleaned them all out, and the pretend-yelling about our party tent violating "regulations" weren't enough)..., but, no, it was a serious customer.  Sorry, Charlie, no way.  We've been booked for a couple of months, as has every other campground in the area.

Well, it's 11 pm now, and we have a long hard day, starting early tomorrow, so I'd better scoot.  I DID manage to get some pictures of both the mens' room (don't ask, but YES, it's true - there IS a pool table) AND the ladies' room at the Shoji show, and I DID speak with Stacey about the Landing Princess launching pictures.  I certainly have my work cut out for me when we get back from the Square Dance convention....

Stay tuned!!  Till then, y'all take care!!  Stay happy & safe!

BTW - the tornado touched down about 45-50 Northwest of us, and we only got some light thunderstorms, in case you were wondering.
