Who says you can't go home again?

Hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving!! Hope you had all the turkey and stuffing and family you could stand! This was the first year in MANY that we spent the day with any family other than us 2 (3). We all trucked over to Elaine & Lynn's house for dinner and were met with their 3 boys, Lynn's parents and Paul Jr, his wife & their daughter, Bethany. What a crowd!! Certainly not the quiet day we are accustomed to, but fun, nonetheless.
While spending the week with Betty, Dick & I did some research on Florida state parks and looked at all the opportunities & offers we've had come in since we posted our availablity. We have heard from 3 different areas of the state, and 4 different rangers. One ranger had 8 (!) parks with positions availabe, so we had PLENTY to choose from. We looked at geography, dancing and park facilities and made several phone calls. Eventually, we decided we might do well to just stay at one park for te whole summer, as fuel prices are skyrocketing.
So, tentatively speaking, we will work in Bradenton (west coast) for the winter (YEAHHHH!! It's WARM there!!) and travel up to Tallahassee for the spring & summer & fall. Unless, of course, something changes our mind. hehe.
We left Betty's this morning, headed for Bradenton, and guess where we have stopped for the evening? (which brings us to the title!) OZARK. Yes, Branson is in the middle of the Ozarks, so, what's it doing here in ALABAMA???
It's a real pretty little park, and they honor our Coast to Coast membership, so it's cheap for us, too. PLUS, they have WIFI that mostly works! We spoke with Denise & Carl today - their daughter, SIL and grandson arrived in Branson last Friday, so they've been doing the "show" thing, and they're TIRED! But, not too tired to go geocaching!
Apparently, Bass Pro Shop had a Garmin GPS for cheap, so they picked one up, and now, they've spent the day trucking around, finding caches all over the place. See, guys, there's no telling where you'll end up, and it can be hours and hours of free entertainment. According to Denise, though, baby, it's COLD out there! I really felt sorry for them when our truck thermometer registered 70. Then it went up to 74, and my heart ached for her. I know they cannot WAIT to get back this way and warm again.
We're gonna head out early in the a.m., and Dick says he's hoping to make Ocala. I think we can go farther, but who knows what adventure awaits. Hope it's no worse than today's — what makes a driver so impatient that he forces his way thru a narrowed lane, when we are already partially in it? And, YES, the fool was driving a dually. Can you guess what that sccccccrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeech was? Yes, it was the sound of his fender, scraping the guard rail. We are mighty lucky he didn't bounce off and hit us in the side!!!
Robert - good luck with your new clubs!! Keep us posted on who, where & when!! You just never know where we'll be next!!
Y'all take care, and don't work too hard!
