The night air is laced with the scent of orange blossoms

As we near the close of our commitment, the air is heady with the sweet fragrance of orange blossoms and anticipation of our next adventure.  Each night is clear and the heavenly scent is absolutely intoxicating.  Our son, Michael, and his son Oliver were visiting us so we all went up to the orchard to get some fresh fruit.  Oliver was very excited to be picking his own oranges (odd, since he has lived in Florida for all of his 6 years!), and he could hardly wait till we got home to eat one!

That night (2 am!!), he & Mike went fishing, and by all accounts, caught a 20 lb catfish, by himself!!  So, of course, the next day, I put the hamburger in the freezer and the boys all ate fish.  Thanks to dear hubby, I had shrimpies!!!  For breakfast, I made a fresh fruit salad, using the just-picked grapefruit, oranges & some peaches & pears we had on hand.  Added some bananas and fresh-picked strawberries, and we all enjoyed!  Now, THAT is one aspect we will definitely miss once we move up North.  Fresh fruit, U-pick strawberries and WARMTH. Of course, eventually, even Tallahassee will warm up, I'm sure!

Our next gig is museum hosting and we're not really sure what all that entails.  We do know the park will be open 9 am-5 pm, and we know there will only be a max of one other couple with us.  There's no campground and no sites other than our two.  Oh, yeah, we also know that we will be wearing some kind of "dress shirt" inside the museum.  The building looks to be on a small piece of land between the joining of two rivers at the Gulf, so there should be good canoeing.  IF we can find a cheap canoe.  We've been looking down here, but haven't found one we wish to purchase just yet.  In other words, we didn't want to pay the asking price for the beat-up canoe we did find.

We said goodbye to our new dance friends at Sun-n-Fun last night, and tomorrow will be our last night with the Advanced dancers from Sun City.  Apparently, one of the older gents at Sun-n-Fun finally woke up and realized how much fun could be had, because towards the end of the evening, he all of a sudden just took his partner and walked out of our square and joined another.  He didn't even have anything set up, he just decided it was time to switch!!  So, of course that left the other square with too many people, so one of the ladies about jerked her partner's arm out of the socket as she yanked him around and into ours!  We were all quite floored!!!  I didn't believe my eyes!!!  After that, EVERYone wanted in on it, so several couples started switching, and yes, there was STILL no coordination between couples.  What a hootenany.  Too bad it took 'em so very long to figure it out!!  Hopefully, they'll continue in our absence....but then again, their last dance is next week, and they may just forget (or die) before they get to do it again.  Oh well, we can only do but so much at any given time!

Well, I just wanted to share some parting thoughts while we had an opportunity before we left this area.  With any luck, we will get to see the Lipizzanner Stallion training, Solomon's Castle, and maybe the beach again before we leave.  And, yes, dear hubby has to take a day off soon and get himself down to the Social Security office!  YES, he has reached his Golden Years and is now considered eligible to start drawing some $$!!  I can't wait - I know just where I'll spend 'em!!!

Y'all take care, and keep checking on us!  I will try to be more diligent about updates when we are not working so many hours!
