Life is good!

We arrived safe and sound (sound as we ever are, anyway) and no trace of rain.  We left Lake Manatee a day ahead of time (Carol thought maybe 'cuz we were afraid she was gonna let the air out of our tires), due to threat of thunderstorms.  Dunno about you, but I've set up all the campers in the thunder & lightning that I need to for the rest of my life.  Sooooo...here we are, and Bill (new boss) comes right on out to meet us in the driveway.

Actually, the driveway was a parking area, big enough for us and a couple of other cars.  We scope out where to park our camper an how to get it in between the two fences with very narrow gates.  We scope and scope, but no one way seems much better than any other, so we just decide to go with what we've got and give it a shot.

About an hour later, and much maneuvering, and even a few deep scratches on the truck, we are finally in place and we begin setting up.  We stop setting up not much later, when the no-see-'ems win and suck us dry.  Apparently, they heard there was a new diner in town and they came to check it out.  In SWARMS!  DROVES, even.  Apparently, they liked the menu, too, 'cuz they're STILL HERE!

Yesterday was a go-day for us.  We found our way to Wally World (no surprise there), the GOOD laundromat, propane, Ace Hardware & Winn Dixie.  All the creature comforts.  Oh yeah, and the Post Office and the general store, where we can ride our bikes to.  Yippee!!  Creature comforts close to HOME!

So, today, we decided we should hang around for a bit, as we were waiting on delivery of our NEW ICE MAKER!!  Oh yes.  Mike & Brandi spoiled us rotten, providing us free ice, whenever we needed it, but, alas, no Mike & Brandi up here.....so, we hopped on our spiffy new Internet aircard & found us a special price, with FREE DELIVERY.  Life is good.  It just got delivered a few minutes ago, and we're gonna test out in a bit.  Even tho the instructions specified not to turn it over, and that's the way it was delivered.  Yeah, bummer getting something so good and then knowing it may not work.  Oh well, that's breaks, and we'll get another if this one turns out bad.  So now that it's here, and our screen tent is up and the grill is assembled, we are about ready for anything.  I think we are gonna head out to a nearby lighthouse to see what we can see, before TODAY's rain sets in.  IF.

Out back of our camper is a marsh, and we get to watch birds, butterflies & bumblebees all doing their thing.  Think I heard either a BIG snake or a small 'gator slide on in, too.  Jose's gettin' antsy, and bugs are biting, so will update later...

Y'all be good...
