Live from Twin Pines RV Park

Twin Pines RV Park is just off I-75, in Perry, GA.  Perry is almost dead-center of Georgia, and being just off the interstate means lots and lots of transient traffic. Almost every day, starting around 3 pm, the rigs start rolling in.  Some have planned ahead, and called for reservations, but a great deal of them think that they are the only ones who are traveling and need a place to stay.  It never ceases to amaze me how people think they can just pull in & have a site ready, just because they're ready to stop.  It happened in Branson, Bradenton, and now here.  What's with people that they see all these rigs driving up & down the road, and yet they have no concept that they are competing forthe same overnight rest stops?  OK, stepping down off my soap box now....

The GREAT things about this park are that 1) the no-see-ems are under control — oh, sure, there aer a few, periodically, but NUTHIN' like it was at St. Marks; 2) there are things to do outside our camper, but still in the park — there's a pool, hot tub, neighbors; 3)  GREAT dancing is only a half hour or so away — and they've been MOST welcoming; and 4) ONSITE LAUNDRY!!  So, all in all, it's not been a bad move to come here.  Plus, the work really isn't all that difficult.  We've got the office and grounds, as usual, but not the potties.  That's kinda nice.  We've just worked with the manager to come up with a working schedule, so it looks like we'll work 3 full days + 1/2 day per week.  Hopefully by Sept. we will be able to arrange off long enough to attend the Georgia Square Dance State Convention, as we used to do every August in NC.

Sunny gave us a good scare the day after we first arrived here.  First she fell out of the trailer, down the steps, then her back right leg seemed to just collapse on her throughout the day.  We weren't sure if she fell because of her leg giving out, or did a fall injure her leg/hip somehow.  We kept her by our side for a couple of days, and we were all set to take her to the vet, but it seemed much improved the next day, and even more so the next day after that.  Now, she barely limps, but you can tell she's favoring it.  It doesn't appear to be in pain, when you touch or manipulate it in any way, she just doesn't put full weight on it all the time.  I keep praying to God that she not be in pain, and so far, my prayers seem to be answered.  I dunno what I'll do if that awful day ever comes...

On a much lighter note, Dick is doing well, to the best of our knowledge, the kids are doing well, Bo & Papa are doing well, and Betty is QUITTING SMOKING!  She's been quit now for about 4-6 weeks and she's walking every day!!  WE'RE SO PROUD OF HER!  She drove from AL to FL to see Papa, and we got to meet her for lunch before we left.  That was GREAT!  First time EVER I could hug her for as long as I wanted because the smoke didn't overpower me!!  You go, girl!

Well, today is our split day, so I guess I'd better go get dressed for work & walk puppy before we head on over to the office.  Y'all take care and stay safe and healthy!

Love ya, miss ya!
