A lot can happen in a day...
It's been a while since our last post and, while I'm sorry about that, there's been a VERY good reason. As you may or may not know, the couple that was working with us here has moved on. Suddenly and unexpectedly. So, now we are working our Bradenton schedule again - you know...the 7-day a week one. Actually, tho, it's really not so bad, since there's NO tension and everyone is friendly again. Besides, this way, I know the job (if you can call it that!) is being done and being done RIGHT. Except, of course, for when *I* make a mistake. Yeah, I hear ya, but occasionally, I make one just to keep myself on my toes. This gig is hardly rocket science, and we're really not all that busy. Yet. I keep making reservation after reservation for Labor Day and into October, so, eventually, I know we (or whomever takes it on) will be busy as all get out.
Of course, this does make dancing on Wed a bit more challenging, but...we have Pat, who has kindly stepped in (and up) to volunteer to watch the office for us. And as long as Di & Jack are willing to walk Sunny, off we go!! Except maybe ot this week. Apparently, there's a tropical storm (hurricane by now?) down in FL, and we are beginning to get some people fleeing the area. I've taken 4 such reservations for today/tomorrow already, but I just don't get what the twitter's all about. I've been watching weather.com, and it seems to me that the storm has veered more offshore than was anticipated. I think we'll just get a bit of rain, and even FL is not oing to be hit as hard as they all expected. Well, I could be wrong, I suppose, but we'll see. Business is business, and if it helps our bottom line, I'm all for it. I justhope that people don't panic (yeah, the ones I've talked to are breathless and carry a sense of urgency) on their way up and get their panties all in a wad. That's step one to accident city. I dunno, I just don't get it. We're here for them, tho, and that's good enough.
Anyway, because we've been working so many hours and haven't had a chance to get out and about and do something interesting, I've not had much to write about. I guess that's a good thing. So, for now, and until something interesting happens, y'all take care, stay cool & dry and be good.
