What's so funny about a dollar?
Ok, here's the scoop on the dollar and the car, Tim:
We were out car shopping...figuring with the price of diesel as high as it is, and only going hiher, we might as well investigate a more fuel-efficient vehicle. Besides, manuevering that monster truck around these tiny streets and for-compacts-only parking lots is getting harder & harder....so, while we were out yard-sale-ing, we hkept our eyes open for private car-for-sale signs and used car lots. Sooooo, we stopped in a lot, looked around and kept on going. The next lot found us a convertible Sebring, in really rough shape...
While Dick was inside, talking to the salesman, I kept looking on the lot. I found a black Mercedes that loked in pretty good shape and was in our price range.... $2,950. Actually, I thought it was a pretty good deal, so I trotted on into the office and told hubby I'd found something for him to look at. Patient fella he is, he followed me back out to the lot to see what was so important. He approached the car from a different side, then looked at me as if I were crazy. Dunno why he would be so surprised...he's known me for 20 years now! When he asked, incredulously, if I were crazy, I was the one who was suprised. I asked why he'd say that and he mentioned the sticker...I said, yes, of course I saw it and it appears to be a good deal and right in our target price range. He asked if I'd come into some cash he didn't know about and when I looked at the sticker from here, I could see it was $12,950.... a difference of only $1!!! Trouble is the pesky placement of that $1! Went from 3k to 13k in no time flat. Had a good laugh at self and walked away.
So there you have the difference a dollar makes!
Off today, dunno what kind of trouble we'll get into, but it's sunny & warm, so I'm sure we're gonna try to be outdoors. Maybe some fishing, swimming...hope all is well with you & yours! Later!
