Hitch Itch is gettin' scratched1

WHEW!  Thought today would NEVER get here!  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ramblers Rest, and we made some *really* good friends, and oh yeah, I learned a WHOLE WHOLE LOT about quilting.  Plus, for the most part, we were WARM.  Much warmer than the rest of the country, that's fer sure.  Can you imagine if we'd stayed in Georgia?  OIKS!  Diana said it got down in the teens and even snowed a couple of times, good golly, I'da croaked.  And even Jose said he was cold on a couple of occasions, and you know he NEVER gets cold.  He even broke out (and WORE) his heavy coat.  So glad we hadn't completely tossed them.  But, back on track...

We were pretty much all packed up last night, vacuumed and all put away.  The only thing we had left to do this morning was the dump ritual, sweep pine tags off the roof (and there was only 1 week's accumulation), pull in the sides and hitch up.  Unlike our poor neighbors, who decided to come up to Mayport & visit there a couple of days.  They discovered an electrical issue about 7 pm, and it took about 2-3 hours to get it figured out & resolved.  To make matters worse, there was a lot of unpacking that had to be done, so, of course, that meant REpacking, too.  And, since they own a Park Model (trailer that stays put all year long, on site), they had to prepare that for being empty for 6 months or so.  Lotsa work, all around.  But, we don't have anywhere to shuffle anything to, so we just dump & go.  And we DID!

We're traveling I-75 now, and have been riding about 2 hours.  I just mentioned to Jose that I was about ready to stop, too, since I have to potty and stretch my legs.  His answer?  We're only about halfway to the first stop.  Ugh.  We're in horse country now, though, and the farms are just beautiful.  As Dick says, you could win the lottery & still not afford some of 'em.  Makes ya wonder where people get all their money.

We should be getting to Mayport late this afternoon & we'll get to see our good friends, Karyne & Jon.  Karyne used to be a co-worker of mine at Wachovia.  She's always good for a laugh or pick up & I can't wait to see them again.  We try to visit them each time we get to Jacksonvile.  I'm looking for a couple more beach days too, before we have to go up into the colder regions of this great country.

I'll keep you posted as we go along, but so long for now!
